ROUTINE DENTAL CLEANINGS IN LITTLETON, CO

Routine Dental Cleanings

Teeth cleaning is a necessary dental procedure that will help keep most of the oral concerns at bay. Removing the deposited plaque and tartar from the surface of the teeth constitutes an integral part of preventive measures recommended by dentists. Even if we brush and floss regularly at home, many microbes can be left untouched behind the hard-to-reach parts of the mouth. Plaques and tartar are also likely to get deposited in these areas, which will result in severe dental issues. To remove the tartar and plaque and prevent dental problems, regular professional teeth cleanings at least once every six months are recommended by dentists.

WHAT IS THE SIGNIFICANCE OF ROUTINE DENTAL CLEANINGS?

Regular dental examinations and professional teeth cleanings mean better oral health for everyone. As we know, a large number of microbes can get deposited on the surface, occlusal grooves, and the intersection of adjacent teeth even if we practice regular brushing and flossing. Regular dental cleanings are essential to remove microbes, plaque, or tartar, from the teeth. This is very important to prevent the occurrence of tooth decay, gum disease, and infections.

WHAT DO REGULAR TEETH CLEANINGS AT KEN CARYL DENTISTRY TYPICALLY INVOLVE?

  • Oral Exam

Your regular dental checkup and teeth cleaning session starts with a complete inspection of your oral cavity. This is done to check around your oral cavity for any signs of tooth decay, cavities, or inflammation of the gums.

  • Removal of Plaque and Tartar

By using the processes called scaling and root planing, the plaque and tartar deposited around the gum line and in between your teeth are removed.

  • Toothpaste and Polishing

After extracting the tartar and plaque from the teeth, our dentist will clean your teeth with a high-powered electric toothbrush. This helps to make the teeth clean and remove any unappealing teeth stains.

  • Flossing and Rinsing

Once the brushing is done, the doctor will floss your teeth, paying close attention to the problematic areas. This will also help remove any remaining plaque or debris left from the earlier tooth-cleaning process.

  • Fluoride Treatment

As part of fluoride treatment, our dentist will ask you to wear a mouthpiece containing fluoride gel for approximately a minute.

ADVANTAGES OF TEETH CLEANING

  • Improves gum health and prevents gum disease.
  • Gives a fresher breath.
